I've been having problems with my backup plan. I'm using Cloudberry VM Edition and I'm trying to backup a VM that is use as a file server, I set the retention policy to keep 3 versions of each file but when the backup plan makes the second full file deletes the first full backup.
Yes, I'm pretty sure. I just have the first full then 4 block level backups and then the second full backup. There most be something weird because Cloudberry deletes the first full backup after it creates the second block level backup of the second full backup.
Actually on second read that's working correctly. After the second block level backup, you now have 3 versions that can be restored and deleting the first full and it's related block level backups is what's supposed to happen.
Maybe I'm wrong but accordingly to article above a single block level backup is not considered a version and it says that if I configure the backup to keep 3 versions of a file the backup will only start purging data beginning with the fourth full version
