Not sure I understand you completely, but the software backs up files based on the time stamps. If it detects a newer date on a file it will back it up, so the process is not random.

Unfortunately, you cannot do this with the software since files needing backup are detected in real-time during backup process. As I understand your question, you likely have a lot of files that are going to take some time to back up, and you want the most recently modified files backed up first. If this is only really necessary for the first full backup, then you can edit the backup plan and limit files for backup by the # of days that have passed since they were modified.

As an example, you can set "Backup files modified" to 3 days and CloudBerry will only back up files that have been modified in the last 3 days. Then you can change the plan to 6 days and re-run, adding the additional (older) files. Repeat until you've backed everything up and disable the option for future backups.

But it would help to understand your use case. Can you describe the issue you are having and why the solution you propose (ordered backup by modified date in descending order) will help?
