I am unable to backup the SQL Database to S3 bucket using cloudberry drive. Full backup which is close to 80gb and 190gb are unable to backup. However, transaction logs and smaller full backups are successful.

I have increased the cache disk on cloudberry to 20gb and I see no improvements.

Here is the error message that I get after 5 mins of the backup starting. It is able to backup around 20gb and later fails. This log is from the cloudberry log.

2025-02-27 10:07:05,171 [Drive] [39] ERROR - SetFileSize 6291456: There is not enough space on the cache.
2025-02-27 10:07:05,171 [CbFs] [39] ERROR - SetEOF failed: 0000007A: The data area passed to a system call is too small. File: '\Backups\sqlbackup\sqlbackup.bak'

Any help, advise or suggestions would be great.

    Hello Vivek,

Cloudberry Drive first and foremost is not intended for performing backup. This won't be considered a valid use case for this product.

If you need Backup of SQL databases you need MSP360 Backup application with included SQL functionality.

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for your reply. Will the MSP360 Backup solution (Ultimate) work for my requirement? Asking because I see the storage limit of 1TB for MS SQL Server and my database backups are close to 2TB.

    Thanks,
    Vivek
